Insurance

Although I do not accept or bill insurance, I can provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part if you choose to submit this documentation. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

I recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Payment
I accept all major credit and debit cards as forms of payment as well as HSAs. Your card will be charged the day before your session through TherapyNotes.
Cancellation/No Show Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged $75. Your insurance company is unlikely to reimburse you for these charges.
Any Other Questions
Please contact me by phone, email, or text for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
HOW IT WORKS

FAQ's

Find answers to commonly asked questions about my services and approach.

Do you work with neurodivergent clients?

Yes.

I work with teens and adults who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, autism, and those who suspect they may be neurodivergent but don’t have a formal diagnosis.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

Many of my clients come in feeling unsure—but knowing something about how they experience the world is different.

Is being a highly sensitive person a diagnosis?

No. It’s a way of describing how some people experience and process the world more deeply.

Can I be both highly sensitive and neurodivergent?

Yes. Many people identify with both, and we can explore that together if it feels relevant.

What if I've always felt "too sensitive"?

That’s a very common experience. Therapy can help you understand and support your sensitivity rather than fight it.

Is this just coaching?

No. This is therapy, which means we address both practical challenges and the emotional impact of neurodivergence.

Will you give me tools?

Yes—but only ones that actually fit your brain and are sustainable for you.

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, counseling is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, and you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.

What if therapy hasn't worked for me before?

That’s very common, especially for neurodivergent clients. We can take a different approach that better fits how you think and process.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

How do I start the process to begin therapy?

Reach out to me via this website, email, text, or phone. When we connect, I will gather some basic information about you, and we will decide if we will be a good fit for each other in a therapeutic setting. If both of us believe that working together will be beneficial, then I will send you the link to your TherapyNotes client portal where you will complete all of your intake documents, including contact information, your history, and short surveys. Once the paperwork is completed, I will reach out to you to schedule a date and time that works well for you.

What should I expect in my first session?

At the time of your appointment, you will login via your TherapyNotes client portal. When we are both in the online session, I will introduce myself, and we will discuss confidentiality and the limits of confidentiality and go over any questions you had about the intake paperwork and policies.

Next, we will discuss what brought you to come to therapy, and I will ask questions to make sure that I have a good understanding of your situation.

We will then discuss my therapy style and what future sessions will be like (a lot more laid back than our initial information-gathering session) and you will be able to decide if I am still a good fit for you in a therapy setting.

Finally, we will discuss your goals -- what you want to be different in your life -- and come up with a plan to get there.

How long will it take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?

I am so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.

Do you see children or teens?

I am always thrilled to work with tweens and teens who are at least ten years old and have the ability to interact in a telehealth setting with minimal adult supervision.

However, a parent or guardian must provide proof of custody before a session is scheduled (if applicable) and must be present for the first session in its entirety. Additionally, the parent of guardian must take an active role in communicating with me and implementing changes in their child's environment to ensure their child's success.

Additionally, I recommend that in conjunction with a child's individual therapy, the family also attends family therapy in order to aid the child.

Do you see couples/partners or families?

No. Although I believe that these types of therapies are incredibly beneficial, I find that my energy and expertise work best in an individual setting with a highly motivated client.

Do you support those in the LGBTQIA+ community?

100%! Those in this community often overlap with those who have neurodivergence and experience trauma due to their sexual or gender identities. Clients in this population tend to make up a large part of my caseload.

Do you offer sliding scale or pro bono/free appointments?

I offer a handful of low-cost/pro bono appointments.
